What is a 1099 form?

The 1099-Misc form is used for miscellaneous income, which could include prize winnings to the IRS. Players may also have a tax liability for 1099. These promotional prizes include, but are not limited to, things of value such as winnings from free-roll tournaments, cash, trips, or hotel stays.
